XPO Closes Verizon Warehouse Plagued By Harassment, Pregnancy Bias Claims

In an interview with HR Dive, attorney Randy Gepp explains the rights that a pregnant employee has under the Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA) in light of XPO Logistics closing its Memphis store. According to Mr. Gepp, the PDA may not require accommodations, but it does allow pregnant employees the same accommodations as other employees on workers compensation or who have cancer. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) may also provide some protections to expecting mothers, according to the article.

The situation at the Memphis XPO warehouse may offer employers a lesson in handling complaints before they transform into issues that draw national attention.
