Taylor English Welcomes Experienced Healthcare Litigation Partner in Northern Virginia

Manassas, VA 

(October 24, 2022) – A new attorney has joined the law offices of Taylor English Duma LLP in Northern Virginia, firm leaders announced today. Michael Ruggio joins the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department as a partner and focuses his practice on healthcare litigation. Ruggio will be the first Taylor English attorney based in Northern Virginia.

Ruggio has four decades of experience representing hospitals, health systems, major medical universities and other healthcare providers. He has also represented individuals and corporations in white-collar defense and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) matters. In his healthcare litigation practice, he manages healthcare regulatory matters and government investigations related to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Justice (DOJ), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Ruggio received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. During his years of practice, he has received numerous recognitions, including being named The American Lawyer and Corporate Counsel Top Rated Lawyer in Health Care and being awarded the Attorney General’s Award for Exceptional Service. 

Outside of his practice, Ruggio is an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he teaches a one-of-its-kind class, “Blockchain for Lawyers.”
