In our efforts to stamp bullying, we need to be sure that we aren't penalizing ordinary conflict. We have to know the difference, because if we overreact to peer conflict between children, we'll teach kids the wrong lessons. On the other hand, if we under react to bullying, we leave kids in a lot of danger. My article on LinkedIn outlines some important ways to tell the difference.

Bullying v. Conflict
Bullying is a serious problem that it seems to be growing along with anxiety, depression, and other serious mental health challenges for our kids. We can't solve the problem, however, by labelling everything as bullying behavior. We need to confine anti-bullying efforts to actual bullying, and at the same time concentrate on teaching our children how to navigate ordinary conflict situations.
