Part 2: Why Taylor English In My Own Words

Like I mentioned previously, at Taylor English we are flexible, allowing attorneys to develop and steer their practices in the direction that best serves their clients. I have found that our Taylor English Tenets, ensure that our attorneys and staff are working from the same standards, which bolsters our clients' success, as well as our own. I believe that the TED Tenets set the foundation for of each of our "whys."

Two tenets stand out to me as being a big part of my "why," embracing diverse perspectives and making quality personal.

EMBRACE DIVERSE PERSPECTIVES

"Be open to learning from others, no matter what role they have, and regardless of their years of experience, background, tenure with Taylor English, etc. We make better decisions when we consider multiple perspectives."

I have found that Taylor English makes it a personal goal to embrace everyone. That is not a blanket statement, rather a truth that is lived out by each and every attorney and staff member.

The most recent example of this is the promotion of Vianney Lopez and Steven Jones to the firm's partnership. While a "traditional" law firm might not view their years of experience as being enough to be considered for partner, our firm believes the quality and quantity of their work, as well as their diversity of thought, outweighs any arbitrary requirement of a certain number of years in practice before being named partner. This one example is a huge reason for my "why." It is the care we take in each individual's success and making sure they are recognized for their tremendous efforts and accomplishments.

MAKE QUALITY PERSONAL

"Have a healthy disdain for mediocrity. Demonstrate a passion for excellence and take pride in the quality of everything you touch and everything you do. From the spelling of a client’s name to the colors of a logo, details matter. Good is not good enough. Always ask yourself, “Is this my best work?” Everything we touch bears Taylor English’s signature, and excellence is the responsibility of all members since we all benefit or suffer from our brand."

Passion and pride are two key factors that drive every attorney to do their best work. At Taylor English, we are able to service clients across dozens of practice areas, because each of our attorneys are committed to ensuring successful outcomes for their clients. As stated above, every member of the firm has a responsibility to provide quality service. I know what is expected of me, and I know what I need to do to ensure that I am putting forth my best work both individually and collaboratively. It is up to each of us ask ourselves, "Is this my best work?"

The firm's dedication to flexibility with respect to work, passions, family, and time brings out the best in our colleagues. One reason our team is committed to providing outstanding service, is because they also have the ability to balance their career drive with a full life outside of the office.

Again, while everyone's "Why Taylor English" might be a little different, there is a commonality derived from our TED Tenets that binds us together as we continue on our journey of being a purpose built law firm that is passionate, collaborative, and successful.
