On April 10, 2019, Anthony Polvino participated in the ARDA World Convention’s forum titled, “The Great Debate - Legal Expert Debate Industry Issues.” The program involved a unique debate approach where the speakers debated several major business and legal timeshare industry issues. The debate was moderated by Jason Gamel, the newly minted CEO and President of ARDA. Mr. Polvino and co-panelist and industry veteran Robb Webb debated the major pro and con positions of fourteen industry issues, including:
- The impact of vacation rental platforms (e.g. Airbnb) on the timeshare industry.
- Right to use timeshare plans versus deeded timeshare plans.
- Mandatory Developer Buyback Programs.
- Industry De-regulation
- Whether developers should support the growth of a timeshare secondary market.
