State AGs Urge Passage Of Federal Cannabis Banking Bill

Law360 interviewed attorney Reginald Snyder and other attorneys regarding two cannabis bills. On Monday, September 23, 2019, attorneys general urged Congress to pass the Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking (SAFE) Act and the Strengthening the Tenth Amendment Through Entrusting States (STATES) Act. Reggie Snyder and other exceptional attorneys weigh in on two cannabis bills, the STATES Act and the SAFE Act, facing Congress during this Law360 interview. The STATES Act would allow each state to determine the best approach to marijuana legalization, and the SAFE Act focuses on reducing the financial industry's need for red tape.

On Wednesday, September 25, 2019, the SAFE Act was passed.

Reggie Snyder, a Taylor English Duma LLP partner who handles cannabis business licensing in Georgia, told Law360 the STATES Act would give states where marijuana is legal a wider reach to regulate the industry.
