"Education Advocacy for Children in Care: Student Tribunal Hearing Training," Georgia Appleseed

On March 23, 2017, Alison M. Ballard spoke on the topic "Education Advocacy for Children in Care: Student Tribunal Hearing Training" at the Pro Bono March Madness CLE Program presented by Georgia Appleseed from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM. This CLE trained attorneys to represent students who are facing public school disciplinary hearings. Under Georgia law, K-12 public school students faced with proposed out of school suspension of more than 10 days or with expulsion, are entitled to dispute the proposed disciplinary action at an administrative hearing often referred to as a "tribunal."
