Taylor English Expands Employment Law Capabilities with the Addition of Partner Peter Spanos

ATLANTA, August 5, 2020 – Taylor English Duma LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Peter Spanos as a partner in the firm’s labor and employment practice. With more than four decades of experience, Spanos represents a variety of local, regional, national and international employers on complex employment law issues.

Throughout his career, Spanos has worked in all facets of employment law, including employment discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, handbooks and policies, wage & hour compliance and collective actions, trade secrets, unfair competition, post-employment restrictive covenants, whistleblower claims, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder employees, corporate governance, occupational safety and health, employment agreements, severance agreements, non-disclosure agreements, independent contractors,  and compensation. He represents clients across numerous industries, including technology, manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, nonprofits, real estate, transportation, pharmaceuticals, construction and consulting.

Spanos handles trials in federal and state courts, cases before the NLRB, the EEOC, the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA and state agencies, arbitrations, mediations and appeals. He is experienced in traditional labor law, including matters such as collective bargaining, union organizing, union elections, unfair labor practices, grievances and strikes.

In addition to his labor & employment practice, Spanos regularly represents non-profits in the areas of general governance, the duties and responsibilities of directors and officers, litigation, and amicus briefs, often acting as outside General Counsel. He provides guidance to both the professional staff and the members of non-profit Boards of Directors regarding complex legal issues.

Spanos has been recognized by Chambers USA as a leading labor and employment attorney for the past ten years and was recognized among the Best Lawyers of America this year. Outside of the firm, Spanos sits on the Board of Directors for Reflections Ministries and is a member of the Telluride Association. Previously, he was active in the Buckhead Lions Club, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the Associated General Contractors of America Labor & Employment Council.

Prior to joining Taylor English, Spanos was a member of an international Am Law 100 firm. Spanos earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
