Asset Preservation Advisors, LLC (APA), an Atlanta-based boutique municipal bond investment management firm and client of Taylor English Duma LLP, has finalized a partnership with iM Global Partner in which the leading global asset management network acquired a strategic, non-controlling stake of 42 percent of APA. Taylor English partner Bob J. Goldberg, corporate attorney Nida Rizvi, and tax attorney Lauren Marlow served as APA’s legal counsel.
“This is an exciting time for APA and we’re proud to be by our client’s side as they cross this important milestone in their business’ growth and development,” Goldberg, corporate partner and former chair of the firm’s Corporate and Business Practice Group, said. “We appreciate our relationship with APA and the trust they placed in Taylor English to represent the company in connection with this transformational event.”
Founded in 1989, APA manages high-quality, tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond portfolios for registered investment advisors, family wealth offices, financial advisors, and institutional clients. The firm currently manages $4.8 billion for clients across the United States and in Europe.
“We see an incredible opportunity in the partnership with iM Global Partner to help continue our strong growth and build on our leading presence as an independent Municipal bond specialist,” Kevin Woods, co-CEO and CIO of APA, said. “iM Global Partners offered APA a unique opportunity to continue our mission to provide excellence to our clients in the same way we have for more than 30 years, and now for decades to come.”
To secure this strategic partnership, the leaders at APA enlisted the help of the Corporate and Business Practice Group at Taylor English, which is made up of an experienced team of attorneys who average 25 years in practice. The group provides practical advice to clients on a wide range of issues, and is distinguished by the real-world, operational experience of its attorneys.
